Great Britain’s most popular food…

1)British food has traditionally been based on beef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish and generally served with potatoes and one other vegetable. The most common and typical foods eaten in Britain include the sandwich, fish and chips, pies like the cornish pasty, trifle and roasts dinners. Some of our main dishes have strange names like Bubble & Squeak and Toad-in-the-Hole.

The staple foods of Britain are meat, fish, potatoes, flour, butter and eggs. Many of ourdishes are based on these food.

During the week, dishes such as steak and kidney pie, Lincolnshire chine (cured shoulder stuffed with parsley and other herbs) and pigs’ trotters were served. These British specialities owe their inventiveness and complex flavours to the meat they use and the way that meat is prepared.

Brazil most popular food…

1)Some of the most common foods in the southern region of Brazil are the churrasco, the barreado, and some other dishes based on meat. This region has a strong influence from the gauchos. The southeastern area of Brazil is home of some of the most popular dishes of the country, such as the famous feijoada (considered as the national dish of Brazil). Some popular foods in this region are frango com quiabo, moqueca capixaba, and farofa.

The typical dishes of the northern region of Brazil show an important indigenous influence. Some of the most popular foods in the north are: tacaca, caruru, and pato no tucupi. Some of the most traditional dishes in the northeast of Brazil are: moqueca, acaraje, and vatapa

2) Considered Brazil's national dish (although it can be prepared differently depending on the region of the country), "feijoada"consists of black beans simmered with a variety of dried, salted and smoked meats. It was originally made out of odds and ends to feed African slaves.

"Feijoada" for lunch on Saturday is very traditional in Rio de Janeiro, where it is served "completa": with rice, shredded "collard greens or kale", "farofa" (ground manioc root, which is pan-toasted with butter), sliced oranges, and hot sauce.

Japan’s most popular food…

1)The Japanese love their food. This can be seen by the number of people who eat out, even in a time of recession, and the number of food-related programs on TV. Tell someone that you're taking a trip to Hokkaido and the first thing they'll do is insist that you try the seafood while you're there or the Okonomiyaki in Osaka and so on. While sushi has become increasingly popular in the West, most Japanese food remains pretty much unknown. Japanese restaurants around the world have tended to cater for Japanese tourists and have been priced accordingly, ie. expensive. But in Japan there is a huge variety of food available at prices ranging from a month's salary to very reasonable.
